Munich, Germany (Sept 21)

Germany has a rich cultural heritage as well as some grim historical realities.  Beautiful scenery, historic castles, and yummy foods will fill our week.

Since my kids are still young, we will focus more on the history and heritage of Germany, and go lightly on the events surrounding the World Wars of the 20th century.

Map of Germany today. #Germany #Map #Today | Germany map, Germany ...

Our week's plan:
Print tickets, stamp passports
Take tourist pictures with photo props
Calculate distance and travel times
Listen to German music
Color German symbols coloring sheets and flag
Read some Grimm's Fairy Tales
Watch film adaptations of Grimm's Fairy Tales
Write some fractured fairy tales
Put on a puppet show or act out our fractured fairy tales
Throw an Oktoberfest celebration
Make some German foods
Make homemade root beer
Discuss German culture and history
Briefly touch on World Wars history
Take virtual tours of tourist attractions including castles
Design a fairytale castle and build it out of cardboard boxes
Talk about German cars and engineering
